Catalan Sheepdog Club of GB – Rescue
Sadly, from time to time, a Catalan Sheepdog may need to be found a new home. When a dog becomes available we will publish an image, a description and will be honest about the reason for the rehoming need. To help ensure a good owner and dog match it is our policy to vet the new home and owner for suitability.

Eddie is a 2 year neutered male Catalan and is now looking for a new home, ideally in a rural environment. He will need training to help him with his chasing and guarding behaviours. He has nipped a jogger. His current home has a path that runs alongside their garden, so he is constantly disturbed by passers-by which is setting back his training. His owners are currently working with a trainer and will continue to do so, but ultimately feel he would be happier in a quieter area.
Below is some information about Eddie which his current owners have put together.
Hi I’m Eddie,
I’m looking for my new forever home since I’m finding the area around my current house too busy and stressful, it’s setting me back on my training.
I’m a true herder and want to chase and nip big fast-moving objects, I’ve been getting myself into trouble with all the joggers and bikes in my local area. I’d really like to live somewhere quieter, with somebody who knows how to help me gradually learn alternative behaviours when I see those blasted cyclists!
I live with two children and have lots of human friends who come to visit us, both big and small. I like to shout at the door, but once our visitors are inside, I have learned to be a gentle, friendly fella.
I love other dogs and try to say hello to any that we see on a walk. There are only a few big boys who I don’t like much!
I’m a very good boy at sleeping in my den overnight, and I’m happy to stay in there when my owner needs to go out for a while. If I’m left to roam, I will guard the house by barking at people passing by…this might be more useful in a less busy area!
I love a snuggle on the sofa with my owners and am a bit of a couch potato truth be told, I just wish all those people walking past would stop disturbing my slumber!
Out and about, I need to be walked away from roads or busy paths as I’m not good with things moving past too close.
I love a sniff around the woods/fields and am always on the lookout for a squirrel to chase….I never catch them though. I also like to wade into water and big muddy puddles.
I don’t mind the odd shower but am not keen on having my knots brushed out, that’s why my owner keeps my hair short. My groomer says I’m a very good boy, so I only let her cut my nails!
I used to be good at the vets, but I’m a bit of a sensitive soul, and have decided I don’t like them anymore since they keep prodding and poking me. I now get really scared and try to get them away. My owner is trying to help me get used to them again, but it takes time, meanwhile, I need to wear a muzzle and take some special medicine to help me stay calm.
I really hope I can find a nice new home, I am such a lovable little tyke but am just too stressed out with my suburban life! My owner is so very sad about letting me go, but feels like her home is doing me no good and she doesn’t want to risk me getting into trouble.
